The Greater Raipur metropolitan region — encompassing Raipur, Naya Raipur (Atal Nagar), Bhilai, and Durg — is undergoing one of the most ambitious urban transformation phases in Central India. With a combined urban agglomeration population exceeding 3.1 million, this corridor is attracting massive public and private investment across transport, infrastructure, industry, and institutional development.
This comprehensive guide catalogues every major project — completed, under construction, and proposed — that is reshaping how people live, commute, and work in the region.
🚄 Transport & Connectivity Projects
Transport infrastructure is receiving the lion's share of investment in the region. Multiple expressways, a light metro system, and railway upgrades are simultaneously underway.
1. Raipur–Visakhapatnam Expressway (NH-130CD)
